ABSTRACT
Urinoma is defined as encapsulated collection of extravasated urine in perirenal, retroperitoneal or peritoneal spaces. It is a complication which can occur spontaneously or in cases such as kidney trauma, ureteral obstruction, ureteral catheterization, unsuccessful nephrostomy tube application, urinary tract tumor or inflammation, shock wave lithotripsy, posterior urethral valve or ureteral surgery. In this article, a patient is discussed who underwent ureteroureterostomy and double-j catheterization because of ureteral injury detected during total abdominal hysterectomy and bilateral salpingoopherectomy operation performed for ovarian cancer and four months after these operations a giant urinoma was detected in the patient.
