Bulgular: Tüm histopatolojik incelemelere rağmen sağ over ve appendikse ait normal anatomik yapılar görülmediğinden lezyonun orijini hakkında fikir edinilemedi. Sonuç: Pseudomyxoma peritoneii olgularında, over ve appendikste eş zamanlı müsinöz tümör bulunduğunda lezyonun orijinini saptamak güçtür.
ABSTRACT
Objective: To present a case of pseudomyxoma perioneii and to discuss the origin of the simultaneous appendiceal and ovarian mucinous tumors. Institution: Gazi University Faculty of Medicine, Departments of Gynecology and Obstetrics and Department of Pathology. Material and Methods: A patient with a properative diagnosis of ascites and pelvic mass was found to have pseudomyxoma peritoneii disseminated to whole abdomen. Results: Normal histopathological appearence of the apendix and right ovary couldn't be seen in spite of many sections of the tissues in their expected localisations. Conclusion: If there is a concurrent mucinous tumor in appendix and ovary then it would be difficult to decide its origin. It could be metastasis from one another or could be multicentric primary tumors arising from appendix and ovary at the same time.
