mgr) ethinylestradiol içeren preparatların dahi, 1 yılı aşan sürelerde kullanımı, trombositlerin sekresyon fonksiyonunu artırmaktadır. Objective: To examine the effects of low dose oral contraseptives on platelet functions. Institution: University of Ankara School of Medicine, Department of Physiology. Material and Methods: Platelet counts, platelet aggregations and ATP releases of 7 healthy oral contraceptive using women whose ages varied between 26 and 40; and 9 women, ages varying between 25 and 32 as a control group, were evaluated. Statistical analysis was performed via Mann-Whitney U test. Results: There was no significant difference in the platelet count of oral contraceptive users and control group (p> 0.05). Intensities of maximum aggregation and rates of maximum aggregation of platelets induced by collagen and ADP were found significantly decreased when compared with the control group (p< 0.05); whereas in the same platelets ATP releases were found significantly increased as compared with the control group (p< 0.05) Conclusions: Even the usages of low dose oral contraceptives (containing 30 mgr ethinylestradiol) more than 1 year, could increase the release functions of platelets.">
