ÖZET
28 primer over malignite olgusunda serum laktik dehidrogenaz (LDH) düzeyleri değerlendirildi. Hastaların %89'unda bu enzim aktivitesi artmış olarak bulundu. Ortalama LDH aktivitesi hastalığın evresi ile belirgin derecede korelasyon gösterdi; Evre 1 ve 2'de 310±50 Ü/L, Evre 3A ve 3B'de 465±85 Ü/L, Evre 3C ve 4'te 540±109 Ü/L olarak bulundu. Ayrıca LDH aktivitesi tümörün histolojik tipiyle de korelasyon gösterdi. Endometrioid tümörlerde 336±66 Ü/L, müsinözlerde 440±160 Ü/L olarak bulundu. Kontrol grubu ile kıyaslandığında second-look laparotomi bulguları ve tümör küçültme girişimi ile korelasyon göstermezken, sitoredüktif cerrahi ve adjuvan tedavinin tamamlanmasından sonra, LDH hastalığın seyri ile belirgin derecede korelasyon gösterdi. LDH'ın over karsinomu veya pelvik kitlesi olan hastaların değerlendirilmesinde yararlı olduğu kanısına vardık.

ABSTRACT
Serum lactic dehydrogenase (LDH) was evaluated in 28 patients with primary carcinoma of the ovary. Increased activity of this enzyme was found in 89% of the patients. The mean LDH activity was correlated significantly with the stage of the disease; 310±50 U/L in stages 1 and 2, 465±85 U/L in stages 3A and 3B, 540±109 U/L in stages 3C and 4. Moreover, LDH activity correlated significantly with the histological type of the tumor; 336±66 U/L in endometrioid, 440±160 U/L in mucinous, 510±108 U/L in serous, 585±120 U/L in undifferentiated carcinoma, and 630 U/L in one malign mixed mullerian tumor. While correlation was not found with the surgical findings at second-look laparotomy and with the surgical debulking effort, after completion of cytoreductive surgery and adjuvant therapy, LDH did correlate with the concluded that LDH measurement is useful in the evaluation of a patient with carcinoma of the ovary or with a pelvic mass.
