ABSTRACT
Heterotopic pregnancy is a potentially life threatening condition and an important cause of mortality and morbidities. Heterotopic pregnancy occurs with a frequency of lesser than 1/30.000 in natural cycles and is a potentially fatal condition. We report a 29-year-old patient who was gravida 3 para 2, with a 6 week and 3 days pregnancy who presented with acute abdominal symptoms. On physical examination we noted that abdomen was rigid with positive rebound signs. She underwent surgery because of worsened general situation. Laparotomy were performed and along with the intrauterine pregnancy, a ruptured ectopic pregnancy was observed in the right proximal fallopian tube.
