ABSTRACT
66 cases who were diagnosed to have vaginal candidiasis by clinical and microscopic investigations were taken into the study group. Cases were randomly grouped and 600 mg isoconazole nitrate was given vaginally as only once treatment to the cases in the first group (n:37). 150 mg fluconazole was given peroral once treatment to the cases in the second group (n:29). In the first group the microscopic investigations which were done a week and a month after the treatment showed that candidasis was disappeared in 81.1% and 78.4% of the same in both investigations. Isoconazole nitrate was effective against the mix infections with trichomonas vaginalis while fluconazole was effective against vulvitis without any additional therapy.
