ÖZET
İn vitro fertilization (IVF) infertilite tedavisi için geliştirilmiş bir yöntemdir. IVF ile yardımcı üreme teknikleri (assisted reproductive techniques=ART) çok pahalı, hasta ve hekim açısından zahmetli bir yöntem olmasından dolayı, başarı oranı yani her girişimin canlı bebekle sonlanması önemlidir. Anestezist gamet veya embriyoya toksisite potansiyeli olan anestezik ajanlarla hastanın karşılaşmasını önleme konusunda maksimum özeni göstermelidir. Optimal anestezi tekniği; minimal yan etki ile iyi cerrahi anestezi, kısa sürede derlenmeye olanak sağlamalıdır.Anestezi yönteminin ve kullanılacak medikasyonların seçimi, anestezistin kişisel deneyimlerine göre değişebilmekle birlikte; operasyon süresine göre seçilecek yöntemde, benzodiazepinler, opioidler ve propofolü içeren total intravenöz anestezinin veya bu ilaçların kombinasyonu ile yapılacak sedoanaljezinin, gamet ve embriyo için en az riskli olacağı bilinmelidir.

ABSTRACT
Invitro fertilization is mode of treatment for infertility therapy. Because of its costs and risks, succes rate (ie. take home baby rate) is the most important end point. Although it can be done by local anaesthesia, general anaesthesia is more comfortable for both patient and surgeon. Anaesthesiologist must take care for using drugs which is minimally toxic on gamete and embryo. Minimal side effects, short recovery time is major properties of optimal anaesthetic tecnique.Altough mode of anaesthesia and drugs is used depend on preference, we conclued that, total intravenous anaesthesia that contains benzodiazepins, opioids and propofol or sedoanalgesia with combinations of these drugs are minimally toxic on gamete and embryo.
